Thread count measures the number of threads woven into a square centimetre of fabric – essentially indicating how many threads are in that area. While often used promoted by marketers, using a high thread count as an indicator of quality is unreliable and not always true.
While indicating thickness, thread counts that are excessively high don’t necessarily improve upon quality. While there’s no magic number – we believe that a thread count of 400 delivers an optimal level of comfort that’s neither too thick nor too light.
YARN QUALITY & WEAVE TYPE

The overall quality of the yarn, the size of the yarn and how it has been woven will have a big impact on the overall quality and finish of the sheets – including how soft and breathable the sheets will feel, as well as how well they will last over time.
